How long will it keep if i tip it in the yard without it starting to heat?

or will it heat up instantly?

4 to 5 days max . Depends what its like at the other end . How tidy he keeps the face

Would i need to roll it? After tipping?

Roll and put a sheet over it . I used to tip a load of brewers grains over it . That kept the heat down

I move a lot of maize between clamps, anything from a couple of loads to a few 100 tons. If you treat it like it’s just been harvested it will be fine. Definitely roll and sheet, even better if you sprinkle some salt over the top. Doesn’t last as well in the summer if it gets hot. This time of year it will be ok
