Lorry driver shortage

How bad is it? I asked a rep to get my rape shifted asap this morning as need the space for barley but he said he would try his best but can’t promise anything due to the lorry driver shortage in the country. Personally think he’s at it but could be wrong.

Probably no worse than the tractor driver shortage everybody seems too have this year but farmers don’t go crying about it and making a song and dance about it they just get on with it …

Do I feel sorry for the firms that can't get drivers? Do I FECK! They weren't crying at the last EU accession when the age lower limit for an LGV licence had to be reduced from 21 to 18 to accommodate those with a tractor and trailer licence from God knows where, who came over to fill the seats vacated by UK drivers, not prepared to work for less. Or those who felt that their previous years of experience should excuse them from having to spend a week in a classroom, every five years ( often at their own expense) , just to keep their jobs. Or even those who knew they couldn't legally comply with the EU bulls!it WTD and either retired or found something considerably less stressful to do with their time.

Must be bad then, before you just had to whistle and one would arrive within 30 mins.
Allegedly!

Wont help those arable folk with just a beet pad for grain storage....
Yes it might put some pressure on the heap in field, onto wagons and off to central storage model especially if the weather is catchy

Started spring barley today. Merchant local to you reckons he'll clear me out by Wednesday.

Surprised you don't have a fancy artic! Keep up with the neighbours
