Lovely to see

Been out to see couple of jobs today and when crossing the brook/stream saw loads of fry assuming they are brook trout as also saw some larger ones great to see them.
I’ve not seen any for many years and shows how healthy the brook is.

Herons have been nesting and successfully rearing young locally for the last few years.
That has to be a sign of a healthy river environment to sustain that.

They look like Minnows to me - trout don’t shoal and unlikely to be hatched out and at that size in late May. Nice to see all the same

They could well be, juvenile trout and salmon look a lot like minnows. I’m not certain, just unusual to see trout fry shoal.
