Wonder how many more low input PP fields are going to come back with a " special tag " in 3 years time and void them " useless" after folks have taken the coin !Our permanent pasture has come back as a site of archaeological interest so rules us out of a herbal ley, have many people gone for the LIG1 - Low input grassland option, and if so can anyone make out what the N limit is?
you can claim for existing cloverNot worth the compromise here. The combination of low input, no feeding and classification risk is just too anti farming.
What's really annoying is that getting credit for it being a clover ley is also disallowed, despite being full of the stuff. Back to their 'arable' thinking where something doesn't exist unless you establish it.

You don’t get any credit for doing something unless you haven’t been doing it previouslyyou can claim for existing clover
Sadly not if it's SHINE. The OP has a site of archaeological interest, which rules out herbal leys and clover.you can claim for existing clover
Those that have done the least now get the most.... it is an appaulling way to treat good farmers??You don’t get any credit for doing something unless you haven’t been doing it previously
you may not get credit but you can get a paymentYou don’t get any credit for doing something unless you haven’t been doing it previously
No paymentyou may not get credit but you can get a payment
‘Why pay for something you are doing anyway’ was what I was told
Yes however I’m currently doing the maximum environmentally on most of my land but only worth £4 an acre apparentlyHence my plan to environmentally vandalise this farm.
It is the only way to make it/ them pay.
I think you were told wrong,‘Why pay for something you are doing anyway’ was what I was told
Hill landI think you were told wrong,
we are getting paid for existing clover in grassland also existing low input grassland,
oh and the hedges and trees and they were here before,
had a couple of people out from ADAS they said it was all fine, plus they sorted the management plans and soil testing which we get paid for.
all added up to more than our full rate BPS was and won't have to change our farming
No hedges at our altitude, no clover on a lot of it. Can you imagine trying to scratch clover into moorland and hill bent grass? White ground? Peaty soil is too acidic for clover. No trees on that ground either.I think you were told wrong,

Looks dire without taking quick buck and ending up down a one way streetNo hedges at our altitude, no clover on a lot of it. Can you imagine trying to scratch clover into moorland and hill bent grass? White ground? Peaty soil is too acidic for clover. No trees on that ground either.
We will make a go of it when it becomes available to us but I think it’s an insult setting a scheme away that some have been in for over two years that still isn’t available for us in harder ground. I also think it’s an insult that we are offered only 6% of what many others are getting on better ground.
We will no doubt make something of it what’s interesting is it would seem a deliberate act to give the low landers the dosh and withhold it from the hill farmers for a few yearsLooks dire without taking quick buck and ending up down a one way street
