Lowloader for tractor.

So we're looking for a lowloader, two or three axles, that has a net load of atleast 15 tons. Sprung boom is a must, enough anchor points for ratchet straps etc.

It will be used to move our 13,5 ton excavator, bales, fertilizer, baler and so on. Is Palmse good, or should we be looking for Chieftain or other makes that are considered as quality trailers? Maximum budget is ~10 000€ without vat.

Got a jpm form cfs not had the excavator on it yet but had 14 packs of blocks no problem was 8k if I remember.

Do not try and buy a pf trailer especially from g and s tractors

Kane would be my choice followed by Herron
Herron looks good. I like the fact that the rear beaver tail can be made flat with the ramps. (y) Haven't seen that kind of solution before. Kane has the option for adjustable beaver tail, wonder how much that will cost and will it work during winter. And how does it lock to the flat position. :unsure:

We bought a JPM 19t lowloader direct from Seamus @ JPM, I wouldn't hesitate to do business again.
We bought a jpm double axle, floor rotten already and rust all over the place.. Also the chassis beams are too light and the trailer really twists with a load in the corners. Needed another so ordered a macualley tripple axle, much stiffer chassis and a bit better all round. Not sure you'll notice the sprung drawbar on a low loader, we welded it solid on the jpm as it broke it's bolts and still rides the same. Spend the money on commercial brakes.. They are great.

Jpm are light and I never seen chieftain make a good trailer yet, for €10k you won't get much of a trailer .

Look at Stewart friend of mine has one he’s got a 15 ton one but wants a a bigger one and is getting another Stewart he’s reckons they are the best on the market

Stewart are kings of all trailed implements...end of but Hurbust are very good and I know our local dealer very well. I will happily put you in contact with him if you wish

Buy a barford lowloader from euro auctions. Herbst makes the trailers...... Euro auctions owns barford so brand new lowloaders going through auctions and there fit to sell them on cheaper.

Kane trailer with the hydraulic beaver tail is what we run
The beaver tail lifts up and down on ya hydraulic spools has anti creep valves on the rams so ya don’t have any pressure on the hoses. We have gone into some places where a standard beaver tail has gone and the back of there trailer has bottomed out on the bottom of the ramps. Where the kane how it turns into a flat deck has more ground clearance didn’t get caught up. Another benefit is if the driver isn’t keen on pivoting when going up the ramp to the flat part of the deck just get him to drive on to the ramp then lift the ramp up and then he can drive forward as it’s a full flat deck. That last bit was for a digger or dozer.

How much is the beaver tail approximately? Pm me, if you don't wanna shout it out in public.

I'd stretch the budget and go for Herron. I was at the factory a few weeks ago and they are building some really nice trailers that are well finished. Special builds aren't a problem to them and they export all over the world. If I was in the market for a low loader I'd have one of these

I'd have no idea on price. I'd class them as a premium brand but you're not paying for a name, you're paying for a good design, strength where it's needed and a good finish. Give them a shout and see what they say
