Apparently the calf was OK after getting trapped

Timely reminder for me to always account for every calf when I'm stock checking

We've lost 2 like that before now, smaller calves, one drowned and one was alive but died later of hypothermia/shock (in winter). Almost as suicidal as sheep
I was just about to say, do you not think they're getting as bad as sheep for finding new and innovative ways to try and end it all?:banghead:

Had a small cow get pushed in one big water trough I had, got her out but the spreader bars, which are normally welded on by seagulls had broke and left a sharp edge that her leg had been rubbing against and cut down to bone. Had to be pts :( awful. Lost 3 newborns in a row last year cow always calve near dykes and the calves stumbled in with their first steps in the night, you can't make it up at times.

We used to have a 5ft trough in a yard and had three drown over the years when they got stuck. More than paid for the small tank in there now.
