And another one (Taken from a Facebook group posted yesterday).

I can truthfully say without exaggeration that Sonny and I, and a young pedestrian couple with their newborn baby in a pram narrowly escaped with our lives this evening as a youngster driving a speeding tractor lost control in the centre of Narberth. As he skidded around a corner and hurtled across the road towards the young family, who had to literally run for their lives, Sonny and I sat, helpless, as his trailer skidded straight towards us and overturned, thankfully stopping just short of our car. I wonder how that young man would have felt if he'd wiped out three adults and two young children this evening?
Every day I see youngsters driving tractors at an alarming speed and tonight I saw first hand what happens when they lose control. We were all terrified. When are they going to realize that they are driving heavy, dangerous machinery and it's their responsibility to keep the rest of us safe? Thanking the universe tonight that nobody was hurt..

Trailer brakes failed according to other posts. If true, can't really fault the driver. More amo for those that want licences / MOTs etc though. Tarmac farming could be the death of the entire industry.

And of course, the driver had done safety checks on the tractor and trailer when he started work that day!

Every accident like these brings forward the day when tractors drivers and kit will be more tightly controlled.

Farmers also need to remember that if they use a Contractor and one of their drivers has an accident similar to those on this thread, they (the farmer) can be held partly liable as the driver is acting under the farmer's direction.

It is not totally the young lads to blame, if the bosses are pushing them on,
However being on the phone is another matter, and there is plenty doing that,
It's just sad tarmac farming will push for higher regulations through time
In terms of driving on phones, I would say it's a 50/50 round here. 50% are youngsters snapchatting, 50% are the older generation who think the law doesn't apply to them. Plenty like to "blame the kids" but are happy to forget about the latter group.

I honestly don’t actually blame the kids they get pushed on and are on equipment they aren’t in my opinion mature enough to be driving obviously there’s good young lads but a lot seem a bit keen with no actual attention to the job the phone thing is just inexcusable though

Brakes failed or didn't work? How well maintained is a trailer which on the pics appears to have holes in the floor?

I wonder who they are all talking to? I'd love to sit and chat on the phone while I'm driving, hands free of course, but can never think of anyone to ring.
I must just be billy no mates:cry:
Its very common with stock truck drivers over here, I can't figure out why, most are top spec, underpants on the outside cabs but they've always got the phone stuck in the ear.
Press a button and talk away you morons, or buy one of those headset things.
