He is arrogant little shite and would tell me to f..k off . Probably known to others on this site ,not far from Newtown and the name of his farm rhymes with melan

Then raise your concerns with the police. If a few people do this, the police will speak to him-the last thing they want is a "Police ignored warnings" headline after a serious accident!

IMHO if you fail to do anything, you are condoning it.

Not a bad idea, as I said he is an arrogant little shite who is reluctant to slow down for anyone

You were saying people that age should not operate any heavy machinery and especially if under pressure.

My point was they were expected to fly spitfires at that age and that was pressure all right.
It is very easy for old folk to sit and whinge about what teenagers do but we have all been there, we should give them a break now and then. Not condoning reckless behaviour for one minute.

Yes, and loads of them died doing it, hence a rather bizarre analogy on a thread about safety.

I passed my PSV licence quite a few years ago , and one of the first jobs I did was a Manchester to Torquay and Paignton , no motorways then , and with 51 people and all their luggage - that was a bit of a clenched fundament at times ! And then when the motorways came in , Midland Red built their own coaches , and were properly licensed to do 100 m.p.h on the motorway . It was a hell of a shock when you were travelling comfortably at about 55 or 60 mph in an AEC , when one - a decker - literally flew past you doing a ton ! It didn't take long for the speed limits to be amended .

Who suggested that?

There are Fendts pulling triaxle tankers on the continent perfectly legally and safely, though with increased levels of regulation. I can't see any difference between a Fendt an triaxle tanker all on air and the like running at 40 tonnes total or an articulated lorry pulling a triaxle tanker at 40 tonnes total? Is one intrinsically unsafe then?
So, …. Drivers have less training, vehicles has less testing, vehicles pays zero road fund licence. Vehicle runs on rebated fuel, driver has no driving hour limits…. Yep… just the same

I’ve come to the conclusion that mobile phones are a pita when your driving.

hands free is ok to a point but actually trying to talk to someone while holding a phone while baling or similar just ends up with me pressing a button at the wrong time, which then results in a cock up and then I’m sat there with someone wittering in my ear an I can’t get out to sort whatever issue my in-attention has caused.

easy answer In a field is unless it’s a menial task or I know the-call is important is to just ignore the bloody thing.

On the road it’s usually just annoying so again unless I got hands free and think it could be important I just ignore it.

The agricultural vehicle thundering towards your wife and kids will generally be taking a lot more of the opposite carriageway than the 2.55m wide hgv.

you said you saw no differencer between a big fendt and a lorry.... Well i'm sure the Road \Transport guys would like cheap fuel...

Again, you are fixated on the haulage industry and it's costs. I've already said: agriculture should have an increased level of regulation that would manifest itself in driver testing and routine inspections alongside an increased specification for new equipment to be able to run heavier and faster. I can't see Stobarts rushing to change their fleet for a load of Fendts and Krampe triaxles given that tractors are still more expensive to run as they are poor on fuel compared to trucks.
