Shorthorn x Highland cows with Luing calves at foot. These cows have been graded by the Luing cattle society and the calves are by a pure Luing bull and will be in the B section of the Luing stud book and any progeny can be registered as pedigree Luing cattle. These cows have fulfilled the requirements of our native breed cattle stewardship scheme, which is definitely a lucrative scheme to be in. We have now enough graded up heifers now and are in danger of having too many cows on a small hard hill farm. These cows have outwintered, and have calved unseen and unaided in a 6 week calving period. It seems a shame to kill them as though they are 10 or 11 years old they easily have another 5 or 6 years in them, the type of cow they are. For anyone wanting Luing cows this would be a cheap way in as Luing bulling heifers are currently very expensive. 07526242114
