Having never found a truly successful way to remove these lumps thought I’d ask here.

For me it’s usually local anaesthetic then the cap from an intermammary tube to try and widen teat enough to force lump out.

Any one have other ways of dealing with them?

Teat peas I think is the non technical term, our vets have got a special widening tool and tiny tweezer things but it’s a foot trimming crush job to restrain the cow.

Whenever we’ve had them it usually ends up with the cow getting mastitis, quite often find the cow will get them again in the same quarter.

I thought this was about a canal called test, blocking by gristle !
Sometimes they can be squeezed out,if larger then I dry the quarter off as it never milks out cleanly.

We call them funks. Had one calve 3 weeks ago with one but couldn't get the funk out due to her tiny teats. Fortunately after about a week and a half of failed attempts to strip it out and uneven milking it seems to have disappeared.
