Lumpy wool

Mostly on ears, I thought it was a deficiency but sent vet photos. I know it's on ewes too. Not sure how many could be 100 or over 200, won't know until I go through them all.

I had a ewe with a maggoty lump on her side a couple of days ago, I'm wondering if it's not related.

I had similar last year and vet said inject all those infected with antibiotics. Someone also told me to spray them with zinc sulphate solution but I had already injected them.

Vet coming out next week to take samples for the lab. I asked him about the zinc sulphate and he said (my phrasing here) it would be treating the external symptom but not the internal bacteria which is yhd problem.
