Lush spring barley

That was kinda what I was getting at . Cerone at 0.5 is a full rate dose . Moddus or 3c early and then possibly 0.25 cerone later would be far kinder imo and should build up regulation in stages rather than a all in one hit .

Can't help but feel it's all a bit late now for these big panic doses . I know canopy is sold out with agrii, could other brands be short too with all sellers , so we're having to take terpal/cerone as more available for the spring barley

Panic dose on this.
Gone from thinking it too early for weed control due to their absence to this in a fortnight.

In hindsight Moddus in with the T1 would have been the correct approach.

Has everyone's spring barley gone completely bonkers in the last fortnight too? Ours isn't quite as mental as that but it's made weed control a shocker to judge. No weeds at all then suddenly BOOM!

I put in typical levels if N but preceding cropping makes a huge difference here.

Most barley after winter fed roots look very much better than no roots.

Best bits have had terpal but it’s already pushing waist high in the best bits!!

Stuff in my video is 100 units too. Not sure if its YouTube or my phone settings but seems very grainy and blurry on it.

The drought last year was hard on the crops but fairly sorted out the soils imo. Ploughing some of my worst soils saw them coming over better than we've ever seen . This has maybe released other nutrients added to the residual N from the poor yields and dry winter .

You not tempted to run over the oats with some more metax max

No. It had 0.25 kg which is half rate. It’s a long time until harvest and most is on drought prone gravel. It will have enough stress without stunting it further now unless I get half an inch of rain every week until late August.

Did my spring oats at 0.25 a hec with medax max and it has taken them out into the car park and knocked the sh1t out them but they needed slowed down. 0.2 on some spring barley and not noticed any leaf damage . Same with the cerone on the sb areas I did.

Oats had got adjust and moddus 10 days earlier but it was hot and sunny when the medax went on but needed done and rain was forecast that night .

I’d agree with you there
It’s like it get a second lease of life after it and you’d swear you did nothing
Spurt of rapid growth

Also agree, in soft growth weather it is v hard to slow up. I have some had cerone 0.3 with some k2 at just about 2nd node. Just went back with another 0.25 cerone on flag leaf emerging as they are still a bit scary. Had v little Fert but pretty fat Land with plenty of slurry over the years. Every time it rains I think it just drinks a little more N.

Had the same thing couple of years ago, they don’t seem to appreciate 2 pgr s in quick succession especially if not really growthy weather or in a tankmix. Did some with trinexapac at first node and going back with some canopy for piece of mind (2 weeks later)

Interesting the different rates agronomists use. I was on at 0.3 medaxmax on some laureate today on 100 units N malting . 120 units feed scholar got 0.35.
