Luximo new grass weed herbicide

If you need to ask the price, you can't afford it.

Seen a little trial where pre drilling 4l of glyphosate was applied to an overwintered stubble, then a spring wheat was claydon drilled.

Followed by 3.3l of Prosulfocarb and 2l of glyphosate pre em.

Then followed up with 0.5l of Flufenacet & Diflufenican and 2l of Pendimethalin 4 weeks later.

Then more recently 1.2l of Iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium & Mesosulfuron-methyl + 2l of adjuvant.

The trial is full of ryegrass and has pockets of blackgrass.

So with that spend and clear resistance then if Luximo works then it would be cheaper anyway.

What was the trial for? I’m not sure I’d rely on defy on its own as a pre-em. Luximo will be costly; why wouldn’t it be. Be interesting what co-form it comes as.

Which will develop resistance within a few years by abuse by some users using low rates to kill large plants and we’re back at square one.

Residuals are much less prone to that.
I dont disagree with any of that but as is obvious round the country it's late germinating stuff that is the problem now, we need either longer lasting residuals or a new contact one, perhaps we can make toast longer this time

Did a good job in trials here over several years, with flufenacet efficacy waning then I’m sure it’s an active that we will need
I’m going to the launch tomorrow so will be interesting to hear more info on it

Seen extensive trials on it. It’s abit better than flufenacet but its not a game changer, so anyone thinking they have been ‘saved’ is sadly mistaken.
I have heard a few whisperings on price, and if correct will probably mean something else would have to give, also heard it may be a twin pack with expensive pendimethlin….I hope it can be bought on its own to design our own stacks with it.

The last thing the industry needs is another new SU type product- resistance to SU chemistry acting on the ALS pathway is widespread. Another mode of action is needed. ALS products are stone dead in the water. More use must be made of residual products and hormone type chemistry or the broad leaved weeds will be SU resistant in time.

Yeah, I'm not interested in a pack with pdm.

Either, and it will be expensive pdm.
It a recent trial for blackgrass I went to, which is the best one for my part of the world in my opinion, they just emphasised the importance for all the other weed management techniques before chemical and it’s no different even with new ones which are a little better.
I think the cleanest plot I saw there, and to mine and @farmerfred86 suprise was a standard pdm, dff, ffct pre em, topped up a few weeks later with more flufenacet and Atlantis.
