Oakridge Archers are looking for the use of a new wood of about 12 - 15 acres, ideally with access to a parking area and storage for a small shipping container. Obviously this is the ideal scenario but we are willing to compromise. The area we are looking at again ideally, would be Macclesfield but we would consider other areas.
We currently have 30 members, the vast majority are over 55 years old. We are members of the National Field Archery Society (NFAS) which has over 6000 members across the UK. More information can be found on the website if you so wish www.nfas.net
Archery is a very safe sport with some 5 million arrows shot per year with nobody having been injured by an arrow. Safety is the primary requirement of the NFAS and ourselves at all times in everything we do and we always adhere to Landlord rules.
The NFAS is recognised by Sport England and the Forestry Commission and provides insurance cover of £10 million. We DO NOT hunt or shoot animals as this is illegal in the UK. The targets we shoot are of a rubber compound. We are a quiet bunch of people and respect the environment at all times.
