Whats going to happen to prices next year? Continue to rise or will supply finally catch up with demand,?

Will the second hand market go back to semi normality?

Or has money just lost value and they will stay high

Thoughts?

Can not see much change for while yet second hand needs to stay high or even get higher with the price on new things today, most tractor etc have just gone up again at the start of November , but are they selling many ?

I can’t see prices dropping with the current level of demand. Spoke to a dealer rep yesterday and sales are very high with machinery delivery times long. Kramer loader for instance is next October delivery and the combine build slots for next harvest use are nearly all gone.. I would guess the three week strike at the JD factories in America is going to have an impact too in due course.

The problem is none of these factories are running at full production ,all are having problems with getting components to build things and have workers off with COVID

It's a great time to tidy up and sell off any spare machinery, that's for sure. Locally the prices seem to be 10-30% higher than they should be, high milk/meat prices are fueling the sillyness to some extent.

I can't see anything drastically changing for a while, another 12 months at least before things start to cool off and normal supply is resumed.

Will machinery prices ever drop? I doubt it.

I looked a s/h tractor in March priced at £16500, which sold before I had time to view, its now back for sale as the new owner upgraded to have one with a loader, its now back on the the market at £19250!!!

New tractors have gone up €5-10 k so the second hands will move up accordingly

Heard the other day that a known brand of silage trailer had gone up around £5k since earlier in the year.
14 tonne on 560/60’s and air brakes is now £25k o_O

I’m not sure that’s right. Just had good spec 18’s delivered for considerably less than that
