The five models in the New Holland T5 Dual Command range have all been given a new look and new features, with a series of updates designed to improve productivity and operator comfort, according to the company.
The updates to the tractors which share the same FPT four cylinder engines, ranging from 80 – 117hp, will be launched at Sommet de l’Élevage fair 2024 in France (October 1-4, 2024).
Among the additions comes broader rear tyre offering and a choice of front axles, a standard unit for lighter work and narrow applications, or a new heavy duty (HD) axle for tractors expected to perform regular loader work and intensive field tasks.
In addition, a SuperSteer front axle option, which is unique to New Holland, offering a 76° steering angle, further increases manoeuvrability and productivity in small fields and in farmyards.
When fitted with the standard front axle, the tractors benefit from a 20% increase in steering capacity under load for faster turns, while a more robust HD axle increases permissible gross vehicle weight to 7,000kg.
A heavy duty axle is available for front loader work
Should the 38in rear tyres have been be fitted the T5 tractors will have a high ground clearance of 480mm while retaining a low overall height that is below 2.67m, minimising crop damage and maximizing building accessibility.
The new machines also gain a rear lift capacity boost of 7% to 4,700kg, while a new 82 l/min hydraulic pump provides 30% more hydraulic flow.
A performance figure which is growing in importance as efficiency in the yard becomes as important as that in the field.
Transmission in the new models is the established Dual Command 24F/24R unit, with four speeds, three ranges and a two-speed powershift, plus electronic shuttle.
A new auto differential lock and auto 4WD engagement on the models simplifies headland turns, while a new maintenance-free, quieter, and easy to engage wet disc front PTO is said to deliver greater versatility.
Styling has not been ignored and the new tractors have been brought into line with the rest of the NH line up
From the outside the latest T5 tractors have been freshened up with new front and side grilles plus new decals matching those on other recently updated New Holland machines.
A new U-shaped exhaust ensures better forward vision while upgraded worklights and headlights with an optional LED light package improve vision and safety in the field and on the road.
Full telematics are guidance systems are available as options
As an option, the tractors can be equipped with telematics and a full suite of precision farming technologies, including auto-guidance, the IntelliView 12 touchscreen terminal and ISOBUS Class 2 implement connection.
The first units of the new T5 Dual Command will be arriving at New Holland dealers in late 2024.
