Want to put a shed up on Made up ground about 5 foot at max...have the planning and want to get on with up ..how long should I allow for the ground to settle and is their any way to speed up the process.....I/e deeper footing etc..or rolling the site currently have about 30 /40 loads ready to level..subsoil has been tipped in ..of course someof it has been a bit wet.

I would think the foundation pits want to go down into the original ground, although i know of a neighbour who built ground up 8-10 feet for a shed , and had me drive in full length box barriers with my post driver, where the shed pits were, as far as i know it hasn't moved

As above, dig down through original ground level, pour bases at the relevant depth, then get the stanchions made to suit the base heights. By the time the shed is up you should know if the ground is still going down. I would put the rest of the fill in in thin layers and track it in with a steel tracked machine for the best job.

Isn’t this called cut and fill , the sub soil need to go in in thin layers and well rolled between layers and needs to be done on dry weather to stop it turning into pudding.

Never done it myself just what I’ve heard.

Thanks..i was thinking myself longer legs into the unmade up ground made sense...if it settles then it really does not matter too much...its only for hay and Machinery storage no concrete for a couple of years at least Concrete panels can rest on clits on the legs as well
