I would advise getting grass analysis done. You could have high potassium which would reduce that availability of the mag.
Lay off potash fertiliser applications. K blocks Mg uptake by the grass.

any discernible difference between ag salt and white gritting salt?So, a sprinkling of ag salt (sodium chloride) on the pasture should do it! High soil Mg and good soil K levels means you don't need either to be applied.
