I've used phosphite as a fungicide for damping off in pulses, as a cheaper alternative to the horrendously priced metalaxyl. It seemed to work ok.

No you didn't because that would be using a non-approved product as a pesticide and might get you into trouble. What you actually did was use a non-pesticide material that helped your crops to grow better.

For the past three years I've used a lot (well the sprayer man has) of epso combitop, which has Mn and Zn as well, haven't used it this year as I couldn't get it and I think the crops aren't as green. However tissue tests are showing its Mg is ok so what do I know? All tissue tests keep reporting B as slightly low though this year.
