teagle vario 250, only a 2.5m machine but the tractor bosses it, funnily enough my dd maize field last year is going to be cultivated this week, stay tuned
We've used similar this year with 4 x subsoil legs on the front to break up any compaction from outwintering. One pass then drill.

Running the same machine on the same tractor the tractor bosses it fine going down hill but going up just about kills it. I'm glad we didn't get a 3m.

You mean a rapid?
I had customers who grew maize using corn drills with every other coulter blanked off. Worked fine. They put tramlines in so they could spray it, too. Provided there is tilth around the seed, it will grow.

Maize was drilled 4th June and did ok, drilled with vaaderstaad demo drill, later harvested and not as dry as I'd like, if drilled at usual time it would have been similar to other

Unfortunately this land is some we land swap with some friends, this is 500m from our gate, our other is 19 miles away but this is destined for development at some point

How soon can you spray grass off after cutting? Was cut last wednesday/Thursday but want to get on with getting the ground prepped for drilling

Why spray?
We haven't sprayed the brassica covers this year but did the Italian Ryegrass, because we are not ploughing.

Crack on and do it. I’ve done all ways, before cutting grass and not at all. Happy with not spraying but planning on doing a field this year. That’s really because the plough has new mouldboards and won’t bury great until all the paint is off.

cut mine last Wednesday and sprayed yesterday,would of done it sooner but rain has stopped play over the weekend,I’ve always done it within 7 days of cutting and never had a problem
