We weighed 12 ton western trailers at between 12.2 ton and 13 ton, some old 10 ton trailers at 10.7 and a walking floor schuite maker at 17.5 ton.

Mid 30's DM chopped very short.

Over the weigh bridge we found it nearly twice as dense as grass silage in the trailers.

We find it’s normally 50% higher density than grass but even so it’s loaded far too quickly to get a full load in a trailer. By time you get to clamp trailer is only 2/3 full.

We have been slowly been getting our silage crop up this year between the rains. Get a 2 or three day stretch and cover the pile up again before more rain. This year we are chopping 400 acres and has been averaging about 15-16 ton an acre wet.
