I usually get good crops of wheat after maize, and the dairy farmer I grow for brings plenty of muck, so don’t think it takes any more than other crops. Also as it’s not planted until May, I can get a catch crop of stubble turnips and tack sheep in between barley and the maize.Not many got three cuts around here last year and only first cut was worth doing.
Maize did ok.
Puzzles me why people would let their land out for maize though, takes a awful lot out of the land.
