Happy to talk you through this in more detail send me an email - [email protected] - short answer is around £1 per tonne of Dry Matter.

Long answer is a lot more complicated and several factors to consider which can see huge variations in this price.

5,000t fresh weight out of the clamp @ 35% dm might be £175,000 ish.

That’s not really the market value this year within dairy farming and location is also a factor.

The market value is whatever someone wants to pay you for it.... hence my caveats.

Precisely!

Seems a strange question from the OP. "Where is the data...?"

The question could be:

"I have 5000t of maize silage in stock in the clamp, what is is worth?"
"I have 5000t of maize silage in the field, what's it worth?"

I do wonder whether the question is more:
"For a client looking to build/run a digester that will need 5000t of maize to run it.....what would they need to pay a farmer to persuade them to grow it for digester feedstock?"

Especially given the user RKE Biogroup:

RKE BioGroup Ltd.
http://www.rke-biogas.co.uk

First Floor
Wealden House
Lewes Road
East Grinstead

Tel:

RKE BioGroup Ltd is a company established by experienced partners from the bioenergy industry with the purpose of developing and operating waste to energy biomethane projects in the UK.

I had an enquiry about a digester recently.....a firm wanted to build it on my property and to contract me to grow feedstock for it on a £/t basis based on analysis i.e. they wanted me to carry most of the risk. Strangely I lost interest rather quickly...
