So if you saw someone doing something that would be farming under the microscope in the press you would stand back and let your business be affected?
What I saw was RT affecting my business by sucking a few hundred pounds a year out of it for no return.

I 'stepped forward' and dumped it.

As far as dobbing anybody else in, I've enough on my plate without 'policing' the rest of the farming community.

Tesco's mislabeling is another example, and we all know how farmers love a winge and moan about that sort of thing!

If you sat on a RT board and you were aware 1st hand of a blantent breach of RT rules. Should you report them?
I was a bearer for a close friend who took his own life after being reported for something. You never know what mental state anyone is actually in untill it’s to late so far better to talk to them nicely about a problem than snitching I personally think. You as a FCN advisor should know these issues better than anyone 😉

It wasn't done lightly after consulting various people on the QT. I wish I hadn't know about it tbh!

FYI
FCN don't offer advice, its for signposting options and places of help. Its then up to the people involved to seek that help out.

I don’t understand the point you’re making then, you were on about reporting someone when you were in a position of trust in one post and then implied you were on the RT board in another, I’m confused
hypothetically

If you personally sat on a RT board and you were aware 1st hand of a blatant breach of RT rules. Would you report them?

OR

If someone you knew sat on the Red Tractor board, Should they report them?

I watched a Harry’s farm vlog yesterday and thought this guy should become the leader of a new farm organisation led by a farmer for farmers, what an intelligent down to earth man that talks a lot of sense

So, the final results...........

108 votes.

8.3% of NFU members who voted are happy with the status quo - hardly very encouraging to the NFU, IMHO.

17.6% of NFU members who voted would leave the NFU to join a new organisation.

Only 5.6% of non members who voted would join the NFU to try and reform it.

39.8% of non members would join a new organisation.

9.3% of voters would help to form/run a new organisation.

If there is no major reform of the NFU, 37% of members who voted would leave.

I'm no political commentator but, from the above, I would think that if the NFU don't soon start listening to their members they very soon won't have any members to listen to.

Those 9.3 % had better start thinking of what to call their new organisation.

it’s pretty clear where it’s going if they don’t start making some pretty major changes

it’s hard to understand why they seem so blind to this, they seem such an arrogant organisation right now, simply can’t not accept a word of criticism it seems
