Making ANOTHER plough

An overkill all round I think.I only lift the leg for the split and start, found that lifting for the finish opened another can of worms, it moves the slice closer to the skim and disk, thus giving the slice a different look to the rest of the plot.( only been lifting it for the last 20 years mind!)
If you lift the leg you can also lift the disc and skim if you wish ( not 2" perhaps). How does this bring the slice closer ?

You can of course do this, but how much time do you have, and with a ransomes, do you want to spend the next three matches getting all those fiddly bits back in the right place! You can of course lengthen the bottom section of the stalk, but thats a modification!

As I remove the skimmer for the split it makes no difference, I have to reset it anyway.

I was thinking of the multitude of clamps and spacers that Ransomes use to hold the disk, that has to be lifted as well, otherwise the bottom of the slice is closer to the bottom of the disk and so has less of a "Torn " strip visible

Skimmers to be used at all times? I don't know you boys do take liberties.
I fell foul of that rule in my one and only plough off appearance at Wittering!! I was awarded a big fat zero for use of skimmers, couldnt argue, they were lying on the headland! Everyone else had lifted them up out of use but Mr Witty though I had gone too far.
Cant you make a L/H disk ass? We always used to.

Rules for vintage ploughing 2d. quote”skimmers and one piece tail pieces are optional-no other attachments allowed”. A rule book and a pair of spectacles are advised.:ROFLMAO:
Another rule that isnt black and white! I think the "optional" bit refers to the type make.I think you must have something skimming, more so as chains are banned

I think you are reading too much into this. Skimmers were to be used at all times until the rule changed in about 2012 .
