I’ve used both recently and the Makita is a good tool, but my Milwaukee wins as you’ve a pump timer, whereas the Makita has a two speed and you just fire through grease like buggery. Good for diggers pins etc certainly miles ahead of hand pumping! Just worries me the bearings having seals blown out

Started to use Makita gun on combine, find it good on certain grease points but not pto shafts. Reason being you haven’t got the feel of a hand pump gun and you can’t hear the tell tail squirt as the grease pushes out the bearings! Secondly I don’t know if it’s the type of grease we’re using (Castol blue) but it air locks a lot which then becomes fairly mess to bleed.

How'd you get on with the tight coupling and spring on the pipe?

What couplers are folks using on there makita grease guns? I used the standard one for a while but seemed to bugger it up getting it off a nipple that went tight under pressure, bought a quick release coupler from Saker tools which again worked well for a bit until a pressurised nipple then I couldn't even depress the lever to get it off and seem to have damaged that as well although it looks fine but it just spurts grease out now all around the nipple.
Do I need a genuine G coupler which I think I can get off Amazon? Interested to know how others are getting on.

I got a double pack of G couplers from Amazon, for my Milwaukee gun, it came with spare rubber nozzles too, still on the first coupler and original rubber nozzle, and have put literally hundreds of cartridges through it, just looked on Amazon and they say currently out of stock! ☹️

Is this a genuine one?

What’s with all this Amazon & eBay shopping ?
Don’t you lot have local shops you can just walk into & buy all this sort of stuff when you need it ?
I would always shop local first & to be honest, we have many outlets with a good range of products, being such a strong agricultural, mining, transport & construction area.
If you don’t support local business, they won’t be there when you need them . . .

Other than our local agricultural dealers I cant think of anywhere local to us that would sell grease couplers. The 2 main ones we use are both very good and we support them with a lot of money being spent with them either through machinery purchases, servicing or spare/wearing parts. However something like said grease coupler will be twice the price of an Amazon price and they will have to order it in. If me saving 15 quid puts them out of business i think they have got bigger issues, other than small items like a grease coupler and perhaps things like LED lights or camera systems all our purchasing goes through local companies. Also many items for sale on Amazon and eBay are just online sales for UK based shops even agricultural dealers, I rarely buy items from Chinese sellers on the above platforms unless there really isn't a based alternative.

Wow 😯

My little local town has a population of about 10,000 people, with the total shire / Council / local government area population around 13,000, covering about 5000 sq km.
We have 4 machinery dealerships ( JD, NH, Case & AGCO ), a pretty good hardware / building supplies shop, 2 x steel suppliers who also sell tools & engineering supplies, as well as 4 other businesses that deal in nuts / bolts / bearings / belts / tools / lubrication equipment / hydraulic fittings etc etc, as well as 2 automotive / car parts shops.
The next town, only 70 km away, is a major regional town of about 30,000 & has many more businesses that do the same thing. If you can’t find what you need locally, they will get it overnight. Many of these businesses also operate on weekends ( especially during harvest & planting times ) & have after hours telephone numbers . . .
I just always assumed that the UK would be the same or better, with your much higher population.

As for cheaper, equivalent items don’t really seem much cheaper online here, certainly not enough to make up for the convenience of being able to walk into a shop & grab an item when you need it.
I’d also rather do my business locally, in my town, than an online seller based in Sydney or Brisbane, even if they were still “Australian” sellers
