you can just get the converter for your batteries from Makita to Milwaukee off ebay if you already have the battery packs? I think the milwaukee is a better gun as its stood the test of time with a lot of industries and theyre such a time saver.

If you've got Milwaukee kit it's pointless buying a different branded grease gun, same as if you've got Makita kit (as I have) its probably been worth the wait for this new gun to come out. I wouldn't say the Milwaukee gun is better but it's hard to say yet as the Makita one has only just been released. Looks the business from the videos I've seen of it.

issue is this grease gun has an auto shut off if it thinks the bearing is full with no over ride to prevent the chattering / pressure build up you need for dirty grease points, so unless your tackling brand new / newish bearings you can forget tight pins on machines etc which the Norweigian forest boys have already found on logging kit. they quote 10,000psi but it will never get to that due to the brain box inside which will render this a nice idea in concept but useless on the farm for dirty kit.

have you got it yet, any good?
Yep had it a while but finally got round to using it today for the first time, used on my digger, tractor and low loader trailer. did everything I needed, easy to use not to heavy lot easier than using a normal grease gun so over all Iam happy with it it'll do my job....but the one thing I really like about the Milwaukee, is you can set the number of pumps on it then press the trigger and it'll stop pumping at set number, that would of been great on the Makita..

Why is it that the dewalt gun is about £100 more than the mikwaukee? Its hardly £100 better

More than £100 last time I looked. It seemed they were going for around £400 if you wanted one from the UK, or you could probably import one from US for <£100 but then pay taxes and delivery charges and have no warranty and the end cost would be similar to just buying a UK Milwaukee and a battery and a charger.

I know it means having another battery and charger if you already are on a different brand of cordless, but a dedicated battery for a grease gun isn't a bad idea anyway as you want it to be ready to go all the time.

This vendor lock-in they attempt with the batteries only works so long as none of their tools takes the pee in price or comparative performance and quality.

Got Milwaukee m18 battery grease gun m12 3/8 impact driver and makita everything else and don’t see it as a problem. Would probably start drifting to Milwaukee stuff now due to makita batteries bricking after 2-3 years of not heavy use.

I considered the dewalt gun for a long time, but in the end I couldn't bring myself to pay that amount for it. Have all dewalt tools, but I think I'll get the mikwaukee gun and charger for its far better value.

@valtra how are you finding the makita grease gun? Any problems with its use? Anyone else bought one? My birthday is coming up and the wife will treat me to one ,so need reviews on how it's performing.

Really good it does everything I need it to, most important was the tracks on my 5tonne digger which is no problem..only thing I have found was I use more grease than a conventional grease gun so just need to go easy on the trigger

Easy to use an awful lot of grease.

I find there is no 'feel' when greasing certain areas, and am not too keen in the spiral pipe protector as the connector is quite tight to get on. I am warming to it a little more than my first impressions.
