Thinking of buying either a new Malone or Sip 4 rotor tedder. Are they both good tedders or is one better than the other ?

You'll struggle to beat the strength of build in the Malone's headstock IMO, but whether you consider that valuable is up to you.

Very happy with my 4 rotor Malone, now in it's third season. :) I've never used a SIP so I can't compare. I expect they'll both ted grass satisfactorily though.

No neither in stock , the salesman said he could get the Sip in a few days.
About a month till the Malone would be available.

Didn’t really want to comment as it’s close to home for me. The Malone is wider than ours. Not sure if ours was being quoted with hook tines which are available now. Not had any structural issues with them in the 4 years I’ve been connected with SIP and the factory has been making tedders for decades so they know what they are doing. Interesting that the larger Malone is 6 rotor and over 8m working width. We have a new 8 rotor 9.15m hook tine model about to land for demo work ahead of next season. Hook tines for the bigger diameter rotor models - watch this space
