Malpas online

Well sadly it didnt go well despite me trawling through pages of out of stock items on their website i selected half a dozen items that were stated to be instock for delivery and placedan order on wednesday lunch time.

I was quite hacked off today at lunch time to read an email telling me my order would arrive in february when an out of stock item arrives! Not hugely impressed so I cancelled the order and to be fair to Malpas they did refund me quicker than it took them to inform their website is bloody useless!

TBH I have also had exactly the same with certain low demand items - stuff advertised that the suppliers couldn't supply to Malpas - the hazards of Drop Shipping - the supplier hasn't got the stuff in stock and Malpas just order when required.

To be fair I think that's just part and parcel of internet based purchases. Often or not "in stock" means in stock with their upstream supplier, rather than their own warehouse (if indeed they have a warehouse).

That doesn't bother me so much. I can usually wait if I've decided to buy over the internet, after all you never can guarantee when the courier/parcel delivery company will actually get it to you, despite the promises (that's another thread).

If I really, really need the goods urgently I always call beforehand to actually make sure they have it in stock or can get it the next day. Applies whether buying off the internet or in a "real" store. What really gets my goat though is when they delay processing refunds, when its clear they can't supply the goods. Mostly I have good experiences though, and the refunds are very prompt.

The convenience outweighs the occasional stuff up or delay.

I had similar experiance with anither supplier this week i placed an order with flowfit online on Thursday am, by 11am i had a phone call telling me the selected bits were outofstock however before he rang the lad had specced equivilant parts at similar prices i agreed and they were here for 8am fridag thats dam good going.

Until i wanted to give Malpas a piece of my mind yesterday I never realised they dont accept phonecalls and have no number on their website the phrase never again springs to mind.

Has anyone ever ordered from them? Is delivery prompt thinking of placjng an order but never used them before.
I’ve just used them and not received the item. They are not interested and have just quoted their term and conditions. I’m now having to pursue recovery of my money.

Bought some flail rotors from them. Tom was who I dealt with. No problems at all. It was probably a year ago though. Sorry you’re having problems. Seems to happen a lot now days with online orders.

With the Malpas/Sparex tie up, our Malpas dealer is one of the better choices for parts even for manufacturers they aren't actually the dealers for. It helps that the guy behind our local branch desk is pretty darn good too, and spends some time hunting down parts and the best place to order from to get a better price. I don't know about the online shop, but the face to face service is spot on.

I have used Malpass online quite a few times because I wanted Sparex and they were quick, the only thing that puts me off was the carriage surcharge, but then I live in the Scottish Highlands, so I tend to use another supplier that I know deals in Sparex.

Vapormatic, sparex and Bepco all have free next day carriage anywhere in UK once above £100 Dealer cost price. I often ship stuff direct from suppliers to customers even if it's something I carry in stock as theres no point me wasting my time packing and shipping it when supplier will do it for me at no charge.
