Yes, been pouring the stuff on this year. Wheel marks from drilling clearly visible.

I thought compaction by heavy rainfall over winter minimized manganese def as it makes it more stable in the soil, worst is fluffy high organic soils. could be short on magnesium or zinc as well

I've noticed a lot this year both on mine and others who all use different establishment systems.
No matter how much I've chucked on it's still visible with the classic signs. I had almost convinced myself that it couldn't possible be MN despite the signs and it must be another nutrient or the mnso3 I'd been using wasnt any good.

In my case I think not being able to roll much in the autumn hasn't helped although all the winter cropped land walked nice and firm and most was ploughed and pressed then worked down again before ploughing so I would expect it to be ok.

I have been over ours twice already but as an old lecturer used to say what’s the point of bathing in porridge if you are starving? Didn’t reckon plants took much in through the leaves and after 30 years spraying it on with less than noticeable effect I’d tend to agree with him.

I'd beg to differ, yes I do laddle it on but I've always been pleased I have done it and I find it quite satisfying to see it green up.

Back in January my cousin had some winter barley going off badly, I sprayed it for him with a mix of powder, liquid and wetter. He didnt think it would do any good being cold and very little growth but it saved the crop and hes amazed how well it worked.

Some of mine has had 5kg of 32%powder+ 3lt 5% liquid twice then 3lt twice if not 3 times this spring on some of it.

From memory I think a 10t/ha wheat crop needs 4-5 kg/ha, some is supplied via muck and the rest by the soil.
