Manganese deficiency

Reason I ask is we have high ph soils here but show little visual signs. That and to spray mn is a horrendous price as next to none is used in western Canada. have done tissue tests and it’s borderline ok ish but it will depend on the years.

Does anyone use a mn seed dressing.
I have tried it but find that by this time of year when deficiency can show the seed treatment has run out of steam.

My relation Who I have been spraying for has found that our this year, it saved a pass in the autumn but he was putting herb in anyway so it hasn't really saved anything other than the cost of the MN and he now has deficiency showing.

Manganese is circa 35p litre in ibc. I'd say that's cheap? I pour it on virtually every time I fill the sprayer!
Last time I used it it was in the region of 10$ an acre and that was ten years ago. It shows up on some ridges here but grows out of it after a rain. Very little research on mixing in the sprayer as it’s very uncommon to use so chem guy says just on its own. I’d like to try it on soys as after roundup applications the can go off yellow for a time before it’s metabolized and is usually mn related. Only product I’ve seen here is mn chelate

Bit of manganese now wouldn't hurt, it would have to be pronounced for me to even consider hitching a sprayer on for it alone mind.

Relatively cheap, usually mixes well with other products. Just not hormone herbicides, to be fair, probably shouldn't be putting manganese in when using herbicides at all.

Started doing some wheat yesterday after spotting the usual indicator areas going off colour.
Disappointed really, we gave the wheat 2 litres on the autumn to try to delay it in the spring.
Hasn't worked out as we hoped.

It isn't 'wasted', you will have had some benefit in the winter. Just take consolation in the fact that another year you might not have needed any in the spring, it's random like that really.

If it’s cool or cold use mantrac works better and longer lasting,4 weeks
mnso4 if it warm only lasts 2 weeks (but stronger if warm enough to pick up the mn in that period)
on third dose on a few fields now
