Mango tree advice. Can it regrow its roots?

Some jack*** pulled mine up and cut the roots off then stepped on it. It's still a sapling. About 4 inches, three leaves, one large one which is the length of the stem. Any change it can reroot?

Google suggests growing a mango from cuttings has a very low success rate.....
Said to be good chance from seed though.
Stick it in some rooting powder and plant it..... Nothing to loose.....

If the roots have dried out it is finished, but worth a go if they remain moist.

Hormone rooting powder is no longer sold in Britain but rooting liquid is available., but as it is a seedling and therefore primed to grow roots naturally there seems little point in using it.

They grow easily from seed - in Britain it is so cold it is best start them off in the airing cupboard or other very warm place.
