Looking to replace my manitou 627 and have been looking at the new 630 106 and the jcb 532-60. Will b used for normal farm work and pushing in grass. Jcb is 4k more expensive but people have told me that it will hold its money better. Has anyone any experience of either of these shovels? Manitou dealer is keen to sell the verio one which I'm not sure about either.

Yes would be staying with Manitou headstock just because all the buckets and stuff are fitted for them. How do you find the jcb compared to the manitou, and what about fuel consumption.

After having a JCB 320 for several years I now have a manitou artic with a vario which is much nicer to drive compared to the 6 speeds on JCB don’t know what it would be like for towing but much superior around the farm faster hydraulics and on this model better vision /aircon and hopefully better paintwork

We have had a new 635 last week and I really like it. The cab is a vast improvement. We had a powershift as we were happy with one before and my brother didn’t like the vario on the clamp and didn’t want to pay for it as probably wouldn’t get it back second hand as we sell them at 3000 hrs. I’ve always liked the Jcb and would like to be patriotic but we have a good relationship with our manitou dealer so will stick to manitou for the time being

I have a Mantiou 630 compact hydro and like it alot. Not as fast on the road if your doing alot of roadwork but excellent round the yard. Like the hydro. Replaced a 627 and it's in a different league to that. Done 1800hrs now with no problems.
A few people have said to me that the hydro might not wear as well when the hrs go up but I'm not sure if they know what they are talking about. They seem to think they are like a fendt that could give problems after 4-5000 hrs.

IMO i would rather the V model as it does not use that blinking 90 deg transfer gearbox! if your clean with the hyd oil then i doubt it will be any worse than the old powershift and 90 deg box set up in terms of reliability.

Our jcb is ok , I would rather have kept to manitou but jcb came with a better deal, better warranty at the time and 0%.
My jcb is a 526-56 so isn’t really comparable to the new model, but I like it.

Had our 630-105 Vario for 14 months and 800 hours now. With the exception of a fuel pipe which split it’s been faultless.

Couple of small glitches after start up, where the screen stays on “manitou” and will raise the boom but not lower, just have to stop it and use the master switch on the front to clear it off (screen stays on “manitou” even with key out)

The tyres are noisy at around 30k on the road. I’ve heard swapping the Michelin for BKT cures this.
