Manitou bonnet locked!

Hi have a 741-130 here that only opens with the key. Lock is seized solid. Can I break in by drilling the lock? Looking a a new lock and handle either way.

First try another key.

Can't recall which type they have But older machines if you pushed bonnet in hard enough you could flex it so latch was clearing then you can lift it straight up

If you buy another handle leave it unlocked and throw the key away.

This design automatically locks when it closes so you have to use the key every time you want to open the bonnet. The older machine was never locked up

How long ago did you last check the oil

Mine has stopped automatically locking itself for some reason.

Our Manitou even has a lock on the screen wash cap but not a locking fuel cap which seems odd
