Machine is a MANITOU MT1740 ULTRA, year 2007
i can hear the sound only when the truck is almost at stop
same noise with the hand brake
any help!

Change the axle oils and use genuine manitou wet brake oil.
You have said before about using genuine manitou oil which I am not disputing at all.. what is difference between manitou oil and same spec oil from Morris or Fuchs or any one?
Manitou have to buy from somewhere or is it special formula
I seem to remember saying this before

Thank you, but genuine manitou wet brake oil not available in Egypt, Any ideas if there is an alternative?

Ok, So the closest you will get is Fuches Titan LS90, this is not the same oil but i know the UK service centre for Dana Spicer axles use it, I dont use it because i have still had the odd issue and its not really any cheaper than the genuine manitou oil, plus it stinks like rotten eggs :ROFLMAO: :X3:

IF you cant get Fuches branded oil then you need a direct equivalent which can be a problem as not all LS90 oils are the same, some are very poor in fact.

John Deere do there own brand LS90 and that would be okay i think, Morris lubricant do Terrain LS90 which they claim is an equivalent but most Morris stockists wont have it and tell you to use morris XEP90 which is crap! XEP90 i an automotive grade LS90 and not suitable for these axles at all. (you probably dont have Morris oil in Egypt either:ROFLMAO:)

Clark hurth and Dana spicer are very fussy on axle oil spec! so are JCB axles.

Manitou and JCB have there own oil blend for the axles, there is no direct equivalent, some brands will claim to meet the spec but NON have paid for type approval.

I have tried every oil claimed to meet the spec and non are the same or do the job, you can get away it sometimes for a limited time but in the end you get problems which are normally instantly cured but using the genuine oil and with out lifting a spanner other than the one required for the drain bungs, that tells me the genuine oil is something different other wise a simple oil change with your regular stuff would fix it.

Its not the same but the closest safe bet if you cant get the genuine oil for the dana axle is Fuches titan LS90 but as i said on the other post not all brands of LS90 are the same spec and some dont work.

For me fuches isn't available locally easy and the price is no different to genuine manitou oil.

A 20 litre can does both front and rear axles so its no big deal really, Wheel hubs just take standard EP80-90 GL5

On JCB i use the genuine HP Plus in the front axle and EP80-90 in the rear and wheel hubs. (Unless there are brakes in the hubs or the rear axle but most are now brakes in the front only)

No reason to moan at the Manitou axle oil price either, 20 litres of it is about £86 plus vat compared to JCB HP plus @ £121.44 plus vat!

Tempting to use the manitou axle in a JCB now with that price difference! BUT i don't know if that would work as not tried it and don't plan too as it would be me that had to pick up the bill if it all went wrong!

I'm sure your manitou dealers will stock the manitou oil? if not then get your oil supplier to look up the fuches titain LS90 spec and recommend a direct equivalent, but my first choice would be the manitou oil which is manitou part number 582391
