Landrover at markets with trailors are really dieing out, everybody these dayz have either a nissian, hilux but mostly newer Isuzu pickups, 10 years ago everybody had an l200, hardly any of those and 15 years ago everybody had defender, we had a few defenders but to tell the truth they were hellish, l can't see landrover ever coming back in popularity, the price of old ones are crazy as well.

news flash they have stopped making defenders so there won't be as many in the car park and as time goes on they will be even less

There's fewer every week at our mart.

You park up your defender and go buy / sell your cattle / sheep then come back out and have to walk home.

oh the days when farmers round here had greem landrover with olive green tarp, when the ford 5000 ruled or if lucky 7000, the seed drill of choice was the MF 30, and even the poorly managed made a profit

I don't understand why you don't need an MOT for a classic car any more. Land Rover series models must be the most widespread old bangers still on the road , and while I appreciate that they still need to be roadworthy, taking away the annual check seems to asking for trouble as it relies on the honesty of the owner.

Are lads moving to Isuzu dmax’s and the likes down to better mpg’s then the landys and high fuel prices ?

If I lived in a warmer clime where it hardly ever rained, there was no crime, I didn't have to drive far and I could park on sandy soil to absorb all the leaked oil, then assuming I could get spare parts, I would run a Landy.

Well I'm still going to market in my 13 yr old disco and trailer (had it since it was 6 months old)
Going to be difficult to figure out what to replace it with

Isuzu is the best buy currently, which is why they are selling like hot cakes.

They are also about the only brand really pushing selling to farmers. The rest are happy for a sale but seem more interested in the lifestyle/image buyers.

Don't think mpg really comes into it much, you need something to tow the stock trailer...
