Role: Marketing & Administration Assistant
Salary:
£20,000 - £23,000 DOE
Job Type: 37.5 hours, Monday – Friday (with the requirement for flexibility)
Location: Chester, CH1 (office based)

The Marketing & Administration Assistant will be responsible for producing high-quality, distinctive and diverse marketing campaigns (online and offline) to promote Hassall Brothers (HB) suite of online agricultural auctions.

Key Accountabilities
  • Copywriting and design – manage, generate, and evaluate marketing communications content for print adverts, email campaigns, media releases, auction reports and social media platforms, ensuring that the HB brand identity is always adhered to.
    • Management of digital marketing channels including:
    • HB Website – ensure content is accurate and regularly updated.
    • HB auction platform – support with the creation of online auction catalogues, ensure auction calendar is always up-to-date and assist clients with technical issues.
    • Social media – manage content schedule, create engaging content, and evaluate the performance of existing social media platforms. Engage with new and established communities and monitor platforms for mentions of HB, responding to all questions, feedback and direct messages promptly.
    • Email campaigns - collate content and images to produce clear and engaging email campaigns for multiple audiences.
  • Maintain marketing databases - ensure client information is correct and marketing preferences are adhered to.
  • Marketing communications planning – ensure the timely planning and delivery of marketing communications activity to support the HB auction schedule, adapting the schedule where required.
  • Advertising schedule – effectively manage the schedule, ensuring all print deadlines are met and relationships with partner advertising publications continue to be strengthened.
  • Administration - provide general day-to-day administration support to the wider team, including event coordination, for example, on-farm auctions.


The Successful Applicant:

  • Highly organised and adept at planning online and offline marketing communication campaigns.
  • Strong design and copywriting skills (in-depth knowledge of InDesign and/or Canva preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content for different audiences.
  • Methodical and detail orientated.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of managing all marketing communications tasks with minimal guidance.
  • Resilient and able to work under pressure with competing priorities.
  • Aware of the UK agricultural industry or willing to learn.
  • Flexible attitude to working hours as our auctions occasionally take place during evenings and weekends.


Essential Systems & Skills:
  • MailChimp
  • InDesign and/or Canva
  • Social media content creation and management (Facebook essential)
  • WordPress
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Copywriting and proofreading.

Hassall Brothers is currently experiencing significant growth and expanding into new and exciting areas. As the director responsible for marketing is taking a short period of maternity leave from October through to February, minimal guidance will be provided during this time. It is, therefore, essential that the successful applicant possesses a demonstrable track record (2+ years practical experience in a marketing role) of creating engaging content, growing and extending social media reach and can multi-task and manage many projects concurrently.
