What are these Marshall rear discharge like.we run a rota spreader,getting more cattle and more muck and getting time consuming.or do we buy another rota spreader got the tractors and the men

Will spread in a day what a rotospreader does in 4 or 5.
On our second. Had first one 16 years with no major issues.

What are they like if a a shearpin goes, a Bunning type you can reverse the floor to pull the foreign obstacle away from beaters

I did here off someone who tried one that in very well rotted muck that is a bit sludge like the muck compresses before it moves then when it hits the beaters it kills the tractor as it’s such a dense block. Maby just depends on the type of muck tho.

Never come across that in the 18 years we’ve run one. If you forgot to knock the spool out when turning on headland, then restart PTO it would happen.

Very rarely have a shearpin go @goodevans. Most common reason would be someone starting it up at full pto speed rather low revs.
Have had sizeable stones from uneven stone floor shed and 2’2’ steel plate go through it. Think it happened once many years ago and just retracted the ram and dug out around offending stone with a fork and removed it.

If upgrading from rotospreader for your own use it is a very good machine. If a contractor or for hiring out then Bunning, Ktwo etc. probably worth the extra money.

Everyone who has one likes them , I mind whe they came out I though this will finish chain slatt floors but Na , I still think just a matter of time before they take off in a big way, much better idea that chai. Slatt Imo

I need to get a wide angle pto on mine. If you stop the door moving at a headland and stop the pto,the muck will slump into the rotors. When restarted it will throw a heap out which is really tiresome. Had breeze blocks go through at a neighbours and didn't break a bolt and the inside has never been washed in ten years because it wipes itself out as working

Love mine, great spread pattern, same issue as Pistonbroke, but nothing to worry about. Simple piece of kit

That’s smart! I have one since 2004 and think it’s great, only had too turn the tips and replace the beater top bearings. Don’t have a wide angle pto but wish I did. Gets washed and oiled after every season still really tidy

We bought our new 1500 back in April also from Vincent's. They had ours in stock when we bought it, it's got the wide angle shaft, hydraulic light guards, led lights and beacon, and the wide tyres.

Overall a great bit of kit for farmer use. It replaced a Rolland v2-110. We have some chicken dung to spread, as well as fym and slurry. Spread pattern is good and good grease point access.

A few negatives though, and I'm being picky. It's noticeably wider than the Rolland was, had to widen a few gate places. The hydraulic light guards are rubbish, split pins on them broke on the first load. The routing of the hydraulic pipes at the front is poor coming from different directions. It's advertised as being near watertight, but isn't at all, and wouldn't consider the slurry I was spreading was that watery. It's runs out the channels the door slides in. The bunning I use also is better for holding slurry. The strip of rubber on the bottom on the back slurry door touches the rotors when you close it, and its made a hole in it. The valve control system works well if you're spreading a consistent product, but going from chicken dung to slurry means it's a pain. I dont have it plugged in for slurry or fun, lucky I have a tractor with adjustable electric spools so control what I need to do with them, you just have to keep an eye on how far out the ram is.

I’d definitely buy another but with all rear discharge spreaders I think a wide angle shaft is a must
