There seem to be a lot of Dick Heads about. One of them phoned our work once, wanting to speak to the boss. The secretary taking the call sort of glazed over and went bright red, trying to transfer the call without laughing. Apparently he'd burst sraight out with - "Hi, it's Dick here. Dick Head." in a very chummy, cultured sort of voice.

I had to take a call once from a Mr Mustard. I hought I must have misheard that so I asked him very politely if he could spell it for me and he said, in a voice dark and heavy with hate - "Its MUSTARD. As in MUSTARD" .He'd probably suffered all his life from people politely asking him to spell his name even though he knew they'd heard it the first time.

I've heard of the marshmallows theory before from an old lady in north Cumbria who uses it in her garden and swears by it. I also have an amazing Richard 'Something' story but to tell it would out me completely

If the mole doesn't eat them do you get a marshmallow tree growing
It's highly unlikely that your marshmallows are fertile, because you need both male and female trees, in close proximity to produce viable seed, and males are very rare. Also, it is common knowledge, that marshmallows prefer a much warmer climate: I doubt they'd germinate. You cold try a few in a cold frame or even better, a heated greenhouse.

Good look(y)

P.S. You need an acid soil for the pink ones.

seems in USA they swear by Juicy Fruit chewing gum - cut in strips and shoved down into the runs

Not the first time I have heard this either. Was an old lady farmer from Herefordshire who told me of the killing properties of chewing gum on moles. Apparently simply bungs them up and they can't eat anymore. But i needs to be Juicy Fruit as it is the one they prefer.

As an aside, our O-Level Biology text book was called "Living Things" written by I.Slaughter :)
