I must say one of my biggest concerns is that they're doing a Twitter / Poison Pill by getting all these dear staff on civil service contracts, so if the plug was pulled they could go all "well it will cost X to sack all these folk" rubbish.

I expect they have a certain duty if prudence, and I'd suggest it was prudent to be hiring on zero hours basis from now on.

Just like the Nfu office. Totally corrupt and living off the backs of farmers who no longer make up the bulk of the annual membership. the moles keep feeding info out …….
I watched the Panorama investigation into the activities of the Post Office.
Even when the CEO and senior management knew that the faulty computer software was resulting in sub postmasters being falsely prosecuted for fraud, they still covered it up to protect the company.
This meant that people were being ruined not only financially but reputationally and of course sent to prison.
The reputation of the company was so important that hundreds of people were literally just chucked under the bus and the morality of letting that happen didn’t seem to be even mentioned at the top level.

I think there are similarities here with the NFU, red tractor, AHDB etc who seem to be able to just set their agendas to suit themselves.
When Will Jackson came on here with that ridiculous comment 27 pages ago it struck me that there was a serious problem with that organisation at the top level.
From reading the posts on here it seems that there are some really good people working there, but if it is rotten to the core, which it looks like it is surely it is better gone.

I also think it is the NFU pulling the strings. It is an unspoken policy of theirs that everyone and everything will be in red tractor. That is why you have heard nothing from AHDB regarding an equivalent to imports route to market.
I may be wrong, but I think the NFU will have instructed the AHDB not to proceed with finding a solution to the problem of unfair market access for imports.

Another organisation which does not act in the best interests of it’s farmer members.

Yep spot on. Will Jackson is clearly is well above his station in his current position. He’ll no doubt leave soon due to stress and good riddance to him.

And yes to the Nfu point. It’s all corrupt and they need to plod on to try and hide the mess. They are so deep into it they darent climb off the sinking ship. And to those employees of RT, NFU, AHDB reading this please never forget when the walls crumble you will ALL be liable for the theft of monies from U.K. agriculture plc.

4478 levy payers actually voted out of 10, 000 registered and how many unregistered.
Not a great turnout :banghead:
Mind you, I'm guessing 4477 of them are also on TFF.

The way I voted to, what in my mind, was a load of questions weighted to get the answers that they wanted, I'm surprised only 3 out of 70 questions scored less than 3 out of 5 (as Tim Rycroft tells us in the video above).

Maybe a lot of other levy payers are a lot more forgiving than me :scratchhead:

However, we have to bear in mind that WE as an industry fund the AHDB, so WE can choose not to fund them if we want. Or we can choose to tell them what we want them to focus on or we can threaten them with de-funding if we think they’re doing a terrible job. It just needs a little organisation. If they think that a very few thousand farmers speak for the entire industry (and is there double or triple counting in those figures?), then a few thousand farmers clubbing together should be able to speak with one voice and tell them what’s what.

If only there were some kind of union to speak on behalf of farmers 🤔

I registered, read the questions and didn't bother to vote as it was a farce.

This is what the BFU will be doing and exactly why the NFU is a total failure for farmers.
