He wasn’t at the Cally maybe holding JE’s hand at UA
DW was buying at Longtown today.JE wasnt there. Lambs could be bought today.Big pen of Blackies in the £60s.Looked alright, would be 30kg ish, maybe more. Tom James bought a few.Big mules £95-over £100.Also bought a few good Cheviots.Lot of lame lambs in today.Folks must want them away before Christmas, but it would pay them to have a go with some feet seciturs and some Terramycin spray i think.Lot of tup lambs mixed in with pens aswell. They were forever stopping and pulling them out.Girl in the ring had plenty work on.

Are you really really sure?! A 30kg blackie is £80+?

Time of year is getting on and if you buy them too small in December they tend not to end up being anything of any use. 30 kilo at £60 is about £35 less than what I was looking at yesterday!!

Obviously at the ua they weigh them, so you, ve an idea, we used to buy nice medium sized ones, in October, run them on grass for awhile, then in a big shed and pellets and you could turn them in to nice 40kg lmbs, fat as we pigs.

Yes, cally should have been tomorrow, think Fisher and JE was at ua, they probably would have went to the cally if sale had been tomorrow, Fisher anyway was there yesterday early but he buys mostly bf lmbs.
Heard a wee story the other day that JE was banned from the cally because the manager of the Cally doesn’t want him standing in the ring like he does in every mart in the country . Would sound about right for the manager in question. Arrogant doesn’t cover it

I know what you mean, I’m not keen on the man.
But just too look from the other side… he might prefer selling too 10/15 different buyers than 1 big man and a few others when people get sick of being run out?
🤷🏻‍♂️
there are Marts further north who would be in a serious mess if John didn’t turn up. Is that the price of relying on one man too much?
