the potential of corona to cause massive upheaval is huge, and everything is at panic stations, the reality, is the death rate is not huge, and relatively few people world wide in % terms, have caught the virus, so, what are we not being told ? I'm not trying to belittle the risks, or the restrictions placed on us, it is the figures posted. According to the Chinese gov, the virus has been halted in wohan, with infections dramatically down. The virus has affected the global trade and travel, and things will never be quite the same again, on the back of reactions by govs. But the number of people that have died, most have had seriously underlying medical conditions, while frightening, are not huge. Things don't quite seem to add up, so being of a suspicious nature, what are we not being told ?

I’ve just been to a funeral in church and apparently this will be one of the last. Future services will be for max of 15 people. Not sure if that is a decision from Church of England or the government.

We’re not being told the Chinese created it and let it out on purpose happily sacrificing 4000 of there own, so they could become the biggest power in the world. Stock markets fall and they buy up loads of stock so when it recovers they’ll own double what they did before. They have an antidote.

Why would they release it in China?

When the first notions of a lock down wer mentioned here (Ireland) over a week ago nw we had the same madness at the shops, shelves emptied and queuing out the doors. Lasted a few days, but from what I can see all seems to hav returned to normal(ish) and supplies hav caught up again. Had to stock up a bit from one of the larger supermarkets today and they hav started to restrict numbers in the shop at a time, assuming to aid the social distancing as there is no shortage of stock on the shelves, and no mad queues looking to get in. Altho we wouldn't hav the same population density as uk (Manchester has more ppl than Ireland apparently!) so probably alot easier implemented stuff like that here (at least outside Dublin anyway).
Alot of smaller local shops here offering delivery now too, wit priority to elderly, there r changes being made in all shops, nó fresh baked goods in stores and sanatiser everywhere!, bit I think when folk reaslied the stock was being replaced the panic seemed to largely die away. Far from the thick of it yet, but for now at least we're getting a chance to adapt to the changes needed to hopefully make some attempt at slowing it down
