Found another Classic today, would say not many of these about, is an original English spec.

Had a 698 which had a really good engine and would pull particularly well for its size. Later 698T models as I recall had the AD 4 236T engine which was turbocharged to over 90 bhp and was supposedly better than the 318 engine.

I never drove the latter so cannot comment. But I did drive a Massey 290 which was fitted with an aftermarket turbo to the Perkins 248 engine, and this sent it to over 100 hp. It was then was a superb tractor that gave no trouble over many years, despite the 248 not being engineered to take a turbocharger.

yes IMO the 698T was better, a good one would drive past a 699
I use to drive a 290 turbo we had that at 105 hp it went very well as it didn't really weigh much
