Massey 23c heater plug banjo bolt leaking

Massey 35 4 cylinder and the banjo bolt on the heater plug keeps leaking. Changed copper washers and tried heating them to make them softer etc but can't get it to stop leaking.
I've been looking online for the banjo bolt but I can't see it for sale anywhere or even get the part number for it.
The seat of the banjo doesn't look deadly but I still thought it shouldn't leak.
The copper washers are fairly thin but I don't think the bolt is bottoming out.
I'm stuck. I don't know if fibre washer would work.

Is the banjo on the pipe from the filter head? Can't think of a banjo on the heater plug itself...

You maybe right, has someone been botching with ours. Should a fuel pipe bolt straight onto it?

I've used fibre washers and also Dowty washers to seal banjo fittings.
If the banjo bolt is bottoming out - then take a bit off the end.
The correct sealant isn't instant gasket though - try Heldite or equivalent if you need to do this.

I am not expert, but I think the rapid quench might harden it. Heat cherry red, then let it cool as slowly as possible will result in the softest temper.
It's the heating that anneals the copper. Whether you quench it or let it cool slowly makes no difference, so most will quench in the interests of speed. (With carbon steel its the opposite & you are correct)

Junk the copper washers, they are the Devil's work. Just get some Dowty washers and they will be spot on, use them in place of Copper on all my old Fergies and MF35. Reusable and seal first time every time. Check the banjo surfaces are nice and flat and have not been scored/scratched, bit of fine emery will take them out but if youre going to use a Dowty washer it wont matter.
