Massey 3095 1234 Hare Tortoise gear lever stuck

Hi,
I know this has come up many times but this problem seems to occur in different ways and on different levers.
The hare-tortoise-1234 manual gear lever is stuck in 1-Hare. I cant change 1234 gear or move it between hare or tortoise but i can move the shuttle a/b gear lever. The problem occured whilst changing from hare to tortoise.
I understand roughly how the hare tortoise mechanism works but im confused why 1234 wont work. If it fails in the process of changing is it misaligned now?

What i have done so far and thoughts...

I have wiggled the wires on the switch below the left selector. I also measure 11.9v at the switch which i hope is enough. The lever was slightly loose on the shaft so i tightened ithe grub screw up.
If i join the wires together on the switch is that supposed to activate the solenoid low on the left. If no voltage is at the solenoid then i guess its a wire issue or autotronic??If there is voltage at the solenoid but still no movement is it a knackered solenoid?

Ps all hydraulics are working fine. Oil correct and new filter been on a month.

Have you tried tapping the linkage gently under the cab while you get someone to wiggle the lever?

We had exactly this with another tractor brand and it was cured by doing this - there are so many gears they all fight against each other and can grip onto each other at times.

Im scared i could damage the selector forks. I believe if the solenoid and switch isnt working it simply wont move.

Ours will do this, have you tried whacking the gear lever back towards you to change the high / low? usually frees ours up.

This post takes me back to frustrating times, I had a E reg 3070 and I had loads of trouble with Hares and Tortoises and high and low. The tractor had to be split 6 times for various repairs. It was a happy day when it went and was replaced with an excellent reliable John Deere 6400.

The only 2 decent things about it was the large fuel tank and the decent radio, you can stick the rest.

Where the lever joins the linkage there is an adjustable connector. If this has come loose its position might have changed. The voltage does sound a little low too, might be worth checking the earths. There is one fairly close to the gear levers at the front of the cab, but that makes the hydraulics/pto a pain if it is dodgy. Had much trouble with our 3075 gear levers sticking.

I have a feeling this may require the selector cover to come off. I understand that the hare tortoise may not work due to the switch or solenoid failing but 1234 should surely still work?? Shouldnt it?

I bypassed the switch and the light comes on and off every time you touch them together so i assume the brain is working. With the tractor off i ran a feed straight to the solenoid and it clicks the same as the others.
Im concerned that with the linkage sloppy when i moved from tortoise 4 to hare 1 i possible did two things at once....conce....can this cause something to bind up inside the selector cover??

Sigh

Side note - hydraulic oil is just below the bottom line but everything else hydraulic works. Only changed the oil 2 months ago. Found a drip on the loader..

Not a mechanic and this solution could actually be bad so use at your own risk... .
Yes i got it working again. It gets stuck halfway between hare and tortoise. Its caused by loose linkage underneath tge step. Get someone to wiggle the gear lever in the hare tortoise direction. From memory its one of the round shafts that jams. First try tightening up the linkage nut onto the round shaft. Then try holding the lever towards hare and tortoise as you raise and lower the clutch (your trying to jolt it free). This didnt work first time.
Go underneath with the engine of and give the shaft a little tap with a hammer. Again this could be bad but the alternative is opening up the cover.....
For me, i returned to the seat after one tap and the next time i tried with firm pressure on the lever it popped out.

I did also drain and change the rear oil and filters before doing this.... Stay safe when under the tractor!

Thank you for reply, i can actually not use it , because when i put it in A or B and release clutch it wants to die

i had a problem before when going from tortoise to hare it would like go something in between but then i just hold the lever 1234 to the left press the button and do it over again and you get it in hare...
