So you think it normal for MF tractors to sound like a bag of nails mixed with empty tin cans played through an amplifier to a boombox?Has it got two speed or economy pto? If so that sounds normal to me, it should be quiet under load though.
If bearings are well knackered they will be in bits. However, pull the bolts off aound the top link and there is a pipe there for the shaft brake that needs removing. Take it off and iirc the bearing and shaft will come away with the housing. This will give you a big hole to check the condition of other bits. I see you have got that far in the video. Not sure about that play you see, because the rear bearing should hold it steady when in place.Proceedure to remove this? I dont want bits of bearing dropping down
That's the problem, bound to be. But check all the other parts while you are in there. As you see, these tractors are very easy to access. The forward shaft goes straight into the PTO clutch. The brake for that shaft, as you will have seen, is right at the very rear and dead simple and wear free. The whole shaft should come straight out of the hole at the rear. Give it a go.
Can i pull this shaft out amd hold onto bearings

A slight rattle yes, but I don't think that is normal and neither does the original poster or he wouldn't have asked.
