Massey 40b Industrial Exhaust

Hi any help would be greatly appreciated. I have an old Massey 40B Industrial. Unfortunately I snapped the exhaust at the
elbow as show in the pictures. It caught on a branch.

For the life of me I cannot find the part to replace this. It seems the machine is based on the 255 but due to the fact that it has the loader it narrows as shown in the picture to pass the loader so a 255 elbow would not work. Would anyone have any idea where to get this part or some other solution.
Many thanks in advance. N

Could you not take it to an exhaust repair shop that has a pipe bender and get one made? Often , for me, this is the quick and easiest way to get the problem solved. Bring both ends so they can see what you need and they should be able to fix you up in a jiffy.

Hi yes thanks it looks like fabing something is will be the only option.

it looks like the same exhaust is used on the massey 50b the pipe is cast oval to for the loader to clear the 30e used a similar arrangement but i am not sure of the manifold fitting there is one on ebay at the moment

Several years ago I was trying to repair the exhaust on my B275, upright like yours, and ran into this problem. New parts were going to cost a ridiculous amount of money and come in on a slow boat from China. Took all the bits down to a local muffler shop and left a half hour later with new pipes and out of pocket $20Can, no receipt.

Thanks for your replies it is very much appreciated. I’ll need to get the part off the machine now which is going to be a nightmare. With the fixed loader on there it is a bugger to work on and the nuts are very corroded. I’ll see if I can find a local muffler shop and see if they can do something with my worn nuts at the same time. ?

Heat the nuts before you try to remove them, will make the job a lot easier. If you have an oxy-acetylene torch then red will do fine. If not then a regular propane or gas torch will also be a big help. You will need to heat each nut for about 3 or 4 minutes but that should make them turn easier, and hopefully not break.
