Hello everyone,
Hope you might be able to shed abit of light on this issue we have!
Our 5445 is having an ongoing issue this last 400 hours of work it has done. When first start up the engine will start and tick over perfect, it will potter about the yard and run no problem but soon as you try to accelerate with it, it starts spluttering and like jerking about as though it is going to cut out but it doesn’t. It also chucks a bit is smoke when it like stutters.
But once the engine is warm it is absolutely perfect. It will rev and run fine. I thought it might be diesel running back over night but it starts fine and ticks over perfect.
Dealer said the pump can Be calibrated electronically but I’ve never heard of this before.
Has anyone experienced this before and know a solution?
Thanks

Would sound like either a injector or injecter pump problem. Our zetor is same on cold winter mornins but once shes runnin about 30secs-minute it clears up

Filters are always clear. I wonder if it’s this bio diesel causing it as it was fine up until this summer and been a pain ever since but once it’s warm it’s fine. Injectors are ok I think as it runs fine once warm and pulls the same as ever but has no pull until warm

Are there any error codes showing up? We had a problem where the tractor would start and run fine, but on cold mornings when the engine would come under pressure it would throw a rail pressure out of range error and derate. When the tractor was warm it was perfect. Bit by bit it happened more frequently in the mornings, always when engine was cold. It was tracked down to a faulty injector. Not sure if it’s exactly what you’re experiencing, but there are similarities.

I’ll get the earth points cleaned up and checked over today. It could be a faulty injector but I can’t tell which it is as it’s fine in a morning until under pressure but even in warm summer mornings it will be the same until the engine has warmed up. Once warm it will run faultlessly. There isn’t any error codes come up at all.

Could it be the pump? mine has a problem with the electric pump its doesnt always work but has enough to pull the diesel through but is always lumpy when i start it but once warm works ok.Can you hear the pump working?
