Has anyone got one of these or similar, has it had brake issues? Mine started pulling to the left when braking on the road, dealer practically replaced the whole brake system to solve the problem. Now it’s doing the same again after a few months. Also today the tractor is now shuddering in 2nd range.
Just wondering if anyone has had issues

A friend had teething troubles with a 4700 series global tractor brakes . I think there was new actuators fitted, and I expect it`s ok now.
See a few low houred ones for sale and just wondered how reliable they are proving to be given they`re not a "heavy duty" range.

For those lighter jobs like teddin, diet feedin, sprayin, fertiliser id think they would be ok. But that depends on the size of those machines but for the smaller farmer it should do just fine. Wev got a mf 4455 and for small jobs its dead handy

All components very poor quality. In two years we had issues with bad electrical connections, ALL hydraulic hoses, spool cables failed, link arms twisted, 4wd driveshaft spline and bearing failure, air con pump, alternator seized, brakes pulling one way or the other and worst of all internal bearing failures, leading to multiple damaged gears, a very big bill and unknown damage to further long term unreliability. So it was sold very cheap and replaced with the 390 it was bought to replace. It had only been on a yard scraper ?

Was this a 57 series? Not surprised you got rid with that list of problems!!
I ask because we've just been and looked at a 4709, almost bought a new one last week and went and looked at a v low hrs second hand yesterday,

no it was a 4707, the globals are all much the same tractor. You’ll notice a lot of low hours second hand ones about- ask yourself why

Any good stories of these machines..????

No but I also remembered this morning on top of all the other issues the door glass popped itself during warranty. Despite the fact the fitter spent 2 hours milling the hinge mounts on the door frame becuase they were welded in the wrong place and he couldn’t get the door to hang without flexing the glass we had to pay the whole bill including the time the fitter spent messing around getting it to fit properly becuase ‘glass isn’t covered on warranty’.

No wonder you are not impressed!
I was really wondering if anyone on here is happier with their machine than you have been....

Think I`d be looking to speak to a honest man at your dealership if you know one before committing. You could ask about a longer warranty (if available) to give you peace of mind if still keen.

Well I have a global 5711 d4 with a loader ive put about 700 hrs on it,was that or px my 5445 for the s model so i decided on the global and kept the 5445.For me its a very handy tractor needs the double pump but the other options brake to clutch and auto change for me not much good.
Cab a bit smaller than the 5445 but i find its better to get into and out as you tend to fall out of the 5445 seems odd but.( perhaps as im getting older its a more postive get in and out)
D4 is better than the speed shift most of the time.Cab quality not as good, visability for gear on the back very good, telecopic pick up hitch good( dromone)
For me its a good little loader tractor the loader lever is just in the right place,3 spools in a funny( perhaps chinese order)213(least thats what its says on the back) and the spools at the back are the opposite way around(perhaps how they should have been many years ago) pressure at the top instead of the bottom opposite to the other 2 tractors!!!!!!
Early days ask me next year if its still ok

We've got a couple of neighbours who've bought new recently, one has a basic 4707 chipped up to 90hp , which he really likes, it's his main tractor, he was baling silage with it the other day, another who bought a new 4709 only last week, perhaps we'll wait and see how they go first
We've been to 2 dealers looking at new both remarked how well the 4700 series are going, (no surprise there I suppose) The second dealer has been recommended to me by our local ag fitter as being good to deal with and having good back-up which makes me think that they may be more honest than some.

Mmm, got a 5711 d4. Has developed brake issues recently. Had it a year or so. Minor niggles but been ok other than the brakes.
Right hand side seems to stick...noticeable on soft ground or up hill on the road.
On the whole I've found it to be a cracking tractor, but I'm comparing it to 25 year old stuff. As for reliability...ask again in 5 years
