Massey 6180 powershift problems

I have a massey 6180 that will not powershift when it is moving. If the tractor is stopped it will move through the powershift gears just fine. Once it is moving it will not shift unless it comes to a full stop again. I have changed the filters and checked the wiring the best that I could. Any help would be much appreciated. The only dealer is 50 miles away and they just opened 6 months ago so there is no help there. Thank you in advance.

thats a new one on me. it could be the rear diff sensor does the tractor come out of 4wd when you get to 10 mph ? if so check the wiring to the sensor its screwed down onto the diff behind the spoolblock

It does come out of 4wd when the speed gets to 10mph. Are you talking about the speed sensor? I checked the wiring and it looks alright. The speed indicates normally on the dash. It started to do this when i had to do some digging at night. It was working fine and then all of the sudden it started to act up. Thank you for the help

Im in the states. Not too many people around here know what to do with it. We used to have a good dealer network out here but they were all bought out by CAT. After 2 years CAT decided it did not want to deal with the agco line anymore so they scrapped it. Now we have only 1 dealer and they just opened not long ago. They dont have techs yet or the the computer to hook up to the tractor. Its kind of a mess. When i call or go there to get parts they are more interested in selling me a new machine rather then help me fix my older one

might be a longshot but these guys were working on their 6290 and were talking about electronic problems they sorted under the right hand step. If it's not that video it's the previous one on that tractor. It was a dodgy connection

Everything else seems to work ok. When it sits there you can here and feel the shifts between each change up and down. I was just out there messing with it and it shifts between the letters as long as it is going less than 1kmh. I do appreciate your help. The factory service manual doesnt give me to much to go off of. This tractor has closed center load compensating hydraulics and the book only covers the open system which is completely different.

I was reading deep into the shop manual today and it mentioned the accumulator with the dyna shift. I took it down and took it to the local deere dealer to have it checked and the bladder was bad. The nitrogen just went straight through it out to the hydraulic side. I am going to drive the 100 miles tomorrow to pick up a new accumulator and hope that fixes it.

opinion is that its your engine speed sensor the one on the end of the hyd pump . because the auto 2 box needs to know the engine speed so it can decide if it will change up or down on the dynashift. it knows its moving with the diff sensor but doesnt know the engine speed. so check that or just order a new one. report back please

Ok I will go out and check that. I had to replace that last winter. When the last one went out it took 3 massey techs to diagnose it and was a heck of a bill. I really appreciate all the help you have given me

I checked the engine speed sensor the best I could. I passed a screw driver in front of it while doing an ohm test and it read it. I check the wiring harness to it and checked all the computer plugs. The clutch seems better with the new accumulator. I have done all the troubleshooting steps in the shop manual. Is it possible it has a mechanical problem or do you think it is still electrical? I still dont understand why it will shift if it is under 1kmh but nothing above that. Last time I had an engine speed sensor out nothing would work. No pro no diff lock and no 4wd along with no dynashift. This is starting to get aggravating lol

I just checked the 17 bar hyd system. It is at 17 bar and quickly compensates anything I turn on or activate. I have included a pic of her broke down. Thanks for all your help. It is much appreciated. More than you know

i do think its electrical if it works when the tractor is stood it points to not getting a signal from either the diff sensor or the engine speed sensor
does everything else on the tractor work ? pto linkage etc try them when you are moving the tractor just to check that the autobox is awake when moving

It's been a ruff couple of days. The starter went out of her so I had to track that down. I checked the clutch switches and the lower one was collapsed in. It was reading full contact all of the time. Went to massey today and picked up a new switch and that fixed her. She is shifting beautiful again. I really appreciate all of your help. I wish massey would have put out a supplement on the autotronic 3 and load compensating hydraulics. If I wasn't so far away I would buy you guys a few rounds
